Frequently Asked Questions1. Why should I buy my signage from Signs Plus? 1. Why should I buy my signage from Signs Plus? We build an unbreakable sign, backed with a lifetime warranty. We have been in the sign business for 18 years and our cumulative experience in the industry exceeds 50 years. We pride ourselves in selling with no gimmicks or hidden costs. No one competes with Signs Plus on quality, warranty and price. 2. Am I limited to a particular size or color for my sign? No. We offer a variety of sign sizes and models. If these sizes do not
meet your needs, we will build the sign to your specifications. We match
all PMS colors. You can even have your mascot placed on your sign. Our
sign is your sign. 3. How much do your signs cost? Signs Plus offers a variety of sizes and models from which you are able to choose. Prices vary. The Advertiser series starts at $3650, while our Books model starts at $4000. The prices and sizes are listed on each series page. Please browse to find the prices of the models of interest to you. 4. What questions should I ask about Zoning? You may want to ask your local code board the following: • How many square feet of sign face is allowed? How is that measured, cabinet only? Do symbols count? Is the allowance for one face or both faces in a double faced sign? • Is there a minimum or maximum height restriction? What is it? • Are there set back requirements? Minimum distance from the roadway or sidewalk? • Is internal illumination allowed? Is external illumination allowed? • Are you allowed a LED (moving message) sign? • Can anyone from your organization pull a permit or is a license necessary? • Can your organization install the sign themselves? • Can you have more than one sign? • Are engineer sealed prints required? Can they be a copy? Do they have to be sealed by an engineer in your state? Most organizations choose to install their sign. Signs Plus provides easy to follow instructions to walk you through the installation step by step. We have a 24 hour customer service number to assist your installation team. If however, you prefer to have the sign installed, we will hire a local, licensed, insured contractor. There are few factors which influence the size of the sign. First and foremost, you should consider the speed of the traffic (at normal speed and during school hours) on the road adjacent to the sign. 35 mph or less Size SMALL (4" letter) (4'x6' or 4'x8' cabinet) Additional factors to consider include how far the sign will be located from the road and zoning ordinances. Please check with your local zoning officials. If you have more questions, a Signs Plus Product Manager is available to assist you. 7. What kind of paint do you use on your signs? Signs Plus signs are finished with a Spraylat 95 acrylic urethane coating made exclusively for outdoor signs. Signs Plus provides touch up paint with each new sign purchase. The urethane coating is formulated to reduce the effects of exterior weathering and will not peel, crack or fade. Some sign companies are utilizing powder coating. As the process has not been perfected for outdoor use, signs with a powder coating have been known to fade, crack and peel and cannot be touched up. Ask your Product Manager for additional information. 8. Why do your signs not have the "goal post" type yoke that I have seen on other school/church signs? Other sign companies use a yoke to hold the sign cabinet to the legs (this provides the "goal post" look). Here at Signs Plus, we strive to provide the highest quality product. In order to achieve that goal, we design our signs without a yoke. Strong metal legs go behind each face to the top of the sign. This construction technique enables Signs Plus (and only Signs Plus) to warrant your sign against 125 mph winds. (see wind testimonials) A vandal cover is a special cover which locks down in three places to the sign face to ward off the effects of vandals. Signs Plus uses a non-yellowing solar grade polycarbonate material in its vandal covers. Our covers are secured with "pinned" allen screws and require a special wrench to unlock the cover. While the cover is securely in place, a vandal is unable to change or remove your changeable copy or to otherwise destroy that area. 10. How do I support the vandal cover while changing my message? The vandal cover of your Signs Plus sign is supported by stainless steel, self-locking support arms. These arms hold the vandal cover securely in place while you change your message. No balancing act is required. Signs Plus accepts purchase orders (P.O.s), your organization's check, or Mastercard/Visa as forms of payment. Additionally, we offer special in-house lease terms at competitive rates. Talk to your product manager about these and other terms. |
