Church Signs Cause Church Growth
By

President
ChristiaNet.com, the world's largest Christian portal with twelve
million monthly page loads, asked readers, "How have
Church signs affected your
Church's growth?" One reader wrote, "Now that I have seen many signs, I
look for them. I think that they are welcoming people into the Church
and trying to let people know they care." The entertaining religious
messages that are often conveyed attract potential worshippers.
One of the examples given by a reader was seen on the roadway, "Will the
road you're on get you to my place? Signed God" Some people become
intrigued with messages displayed on roadside signs and on marquees.
This question could stir up readers to think about eternity. Curiosity
and intrigue can bring people into the Church Building to find out more.
"One of the joys of being part of Signs Plus for the past 17 years has
been the dozens of letters that we have received from pastors across the
United States who have told us that their sign has literally brought
people into the church and further challenged them to come to know more
about Christ and who He is and His life," stated Robert W. Klinger,
President of Signs Plus.
While many Christians feel that using advertisements and slogans to
increase attendance is acceptable, there are some that feel that there
is too much emphasis on Church growth and not enough on the anointing
and power of the Holy Spirit. Many of the Church Signs are there to
encourage people to reach out to God and experience a better life. If
the slogans help to increase attendance then that is good for those who
are attending because they may find salvation and enrich their lives.
"I think the best messages simply quote scripture," said one reader.
God's Word is a powerful way to reach those who are lost always
producing results. A simple scripture with service days and times is a
favorite of many readers. Some of the larger services are repeated twice
and even three times on Sunday mornings for the convenience of the
participants and so the maximum amount of people can attend. It is also
possible to find a service in the afternoon to accommodate late
sleepers.
Finding humor in a message can bring a smile to one's face especially
when there is a hidden spiritual message enclosed. Believers seem to
overall agree that they would rather read a spiritual message on a
billboard or marquee than see an advertisement for something else. There
are many avenues that God has blessed Christians with that provide
ministry, encouragement, and Church growth. Using Church Signs is one of
those avenues. For more information, visit:
